Boundary Review Board (Thurston County)

Boundary review boards are mandated by state legislation in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Spokane counties; they are optional in all other counties. Seventeen other counties have opted to create boards, including Benton, Clallam, Cowlitz, Douglas, Grant, Grays Harbor, Kitsap, Lewis, Skagit, Skamania, Thurston, Walla Walla, Whatcom and Yakima counties. Boundary review boards have jurisdiction over municipal annexations, incorporation's, disincorporations, and creation or annexation of certain special districts. The boards also have jurisdiction over extensions of sewer and water services outside the city or district.
