OSPI Grade Level Expectations

Grade Level Expectations, or GLEs, define the knowledge and skills that students should gain from kindergarten through the 10th grade. There are specific learning expectations for students for each of these grades.

The Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction has produced the one-page handout “Your Child’s Progress” broadly covers grade level expectations. The handout also covers basic information on state testing for grades 3 through 10. Due to budget cuts, we are unable to offer free prints this year.

Note: Translations for Kindergarten through tenth grade are available for the following languages: Cambodian, Chinese, Korean, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese.
