Governor Gregoire Honored by Washington School Administrators with Golden Gavel Award

OLYMPIA - Governor Gregoire today received the Washington Association of School Administrator's "Golden Gavel Award" in recognition of her service to public education.

"Schools are the great equalizer in today's workforce - rich or poor, all students should have the chance to succeed and to compete in the global economy," said Governor Gregoire. "We must have a seamless educational system that promotes growth and achievement through all stages. We must step up to the challenge, and together with our teachers and administrators, we can deliver on our promise to Washington's children."
