Governor Gregoire's Statement on House Chair's Budget

OLYMPIA - Governor Chris Gregoire today made the following statement regarding the latest legislative progress toward passing a 2006 supplemental budget.

�I want to thank Rep. Helen Sommers, chair of the House Appropriations Committee, and the members of the Committee for proposing a spending plan that sets aside substantial funds for the future. The budget addresses many of the priorities that we share, including early learning, alternative energy and child safety. I look forward to passage of a House budget, followed by a House-Senate Budget Conference Committee, where all of us can discuss and come to mutual agreement on any differences in spending proposals.�
