Gov. Gregoire�s statement on passing of Wahkiakum County Sheriff, Jon L. Dearmore

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today issued the following statement after learning of the passing of Wahkiakum County Sheriff, Jon L. Dearmore:

�Sheriff Dearmore was committed to making a difference in the community he lived and worked in. His law enforcement career spanned nearly 25 years and his time as Wahkiakum county sheriff has ended too soon. He loved helping people and was an effective leader while urging deputies within his closely-knit Sheriff�s Office to do the same by being more accessible and visible in the community. This is a terrible loss that we can never prepare for.

�Mike and I send our thoughts and prayers to his wife and daughter, family, his colleagues, members of the Wahkiakum county community and his many friends.�
