Gov. Gregoire�s statement on death of Roberto Maestas

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today issued the following statement on the death of Roberto Maestas, a long time advocate for social justice and founder of El Centro de La Raza:

�I am terribly saddened about the death of Roberto Maestas. It is far too rare that our communities are blessed with such a devoted leader, a committed advocate and a person who fights for the benefit of all Washingtonians.

�While I extend my condolences today to Roberto�s family, friends and community, they can be comforted by the amazing legacy he leaves behind. I am confident they will continue to carry forth his mission to champion for all people, no matter their race or circumstance.�
