Gov. Gregoire�s statement on three state workers killed in Zillah house fire

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today issued the following statement on three Washington State Patrol employees � two troopers and a communications specialist � who were killed this morning in a house fire near Zillah:

�I am deeply saddened about the deaths of three Washington State Patrol employees � and send my heartfelt condolences to the friends, families and co-workers of those tragically killed. These individuals dedicated their lives to protecting our neighbors and communities, and should forever be remembered for their commitment to ensuring our safety. I�m sure all Washingtonians share my profound gratitude for their service.

�I remain in close contact with WSP Chief John Batiste � and have assured him that the state will provide any necessary support to his staff as the investigation continues.�
