Gov. Gregoire orders flags flown at half-staff Monday, Jan. 11

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire has directed that flags at all Washington state agency buildings be lowered to half-staff Monday, Jan. 11, in memory of Grant County Sheriff�s Deputy John Bernard. Deputy Bernard was killed while on duty last week from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business Monday, or first thing Tuesday morning, Jan. 12. Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
