Gov. Gregoire directs flag lowering to honor fallen soldier of 81st Brigade

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today directed that flags at all Washington state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff Monday, June 8, in memory of Washington National Guard Spc. Samuel D. Stone, 20, of Port Orchard, who died last weekend when the vehicle in which he was riding overturned in Tallil, Iraq.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business on Monday, or first thing Tuesday morning.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
