Gov. Gregoire's statement on Senate passage of boards and commissions bill

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today released the following statement on the passage by the state Senate of a boards and commissions bill she requested:

�I congratulate the Senate for its unanimous support in passing Senate Bill 5995, which will eliminate, suspend or consolidate more than 100 boards and commissions. This legislation is an important part of my government reform package to better serve Washingtonians by streamlining and focusing our operations.

�I thank Senator Craig Pridemore for his leadership in securing passage of this measure.

�I now urge the state House to follow the Senate�s action by passing this bill.�
