Gov. Gregoire�s statement on state Supreme Court ruling regarding Kittitas Valley wind farm

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today released the following statement on Washington State Supreme Court�s unanimous ruling that will allow the development of the Kittitas Valley wind farm project in Kittitas County to proceed:

�I am pleased our state�s Supreme Court ruled that we followed the law in approving this project.

�The project went through an extensive review, and only after I gave it careful consideration did I choose to exercise state authority to site the project. It is clear Washington�s need for energy resources is continuing to grow, and we must meet that demand for abundant and affordable energy resources with the least impact on our state�s natural resources.�
