WorkSource works! That’s the finding of a new study that examined the effectiveness of WorkSource job-search services.

Results show that unemployment-insurance claimants who receive job-search services at a WorkSource center find work faster and, as a result, earn more money than those who don’t visit WorkSource.

The advantages were particularly significant for workers who have had trouble holding a steady job in the past. 

• They were up to 37 percent more likely to find a job within the study period. 

• And they were on a pace to earn $2,500 to $3,000 more per year than those who didn’t receive WorkSource services.

WorkSource is a partnership of the Employment Security Department and other local, state and nonprofit organizations that, together, offer a comprehensive array of employment and training services for job seekers and employers.
