Introduction:
This collection consists of 14 photographic portraits and drawings of the governors of Washington Territory, from 1853 to 1889. Portraits include Isaac I. Stevens, William Wallace, Edward S. Salomon, Watson C. Squire, Eugene Semple, George E. Cole, Elisha P. Ferry, Alvan P. Flanders, Richard D. Gholson, Marshall F. Moore, Miles Moore, William A. Newell, William Pickering, Henry M. McGill, (Acting Territorial Governor), and Fayette McMullen.
