Introduction These records include 447 searchable audio recordings from the Washington State Senate committee meetings from 1972 through 2004. The digitization of these recordings is an ongoing project, and recordings will continue to be added to the Digital Archives over the next several years.

Recordings are currently available from the following committee meetings: Agriculture Committee, 1983-1988, Commerce Committee, 1973-1980, Constitutions & Elections Committee, 1973-1977, and Ecology Committee, 1972-1980.

Senate Committee meeting recordings are verbatim recordings of each committee’s legislative business. During Senate Committee meetings, elected members consider and make recommendations about disposition of bills, resolutions, and other matters referred to them.

All recordings are in English.

These records are open for research.

Audio tapes are digitized by the Washington State Office of the Secretary of Senate.
