| Introduction |
These records include the minutes of the Ferry County Board of Commissioners’ meetings from March 11, 1899 through 1952 and June 6, 1983 through December 27, 2006. Those seeking minutes for 1953-1982 should contact the Ferry County Clerk of the Board. Minutes are the official record of the proceedings of the County Commissioners. Minutes may include date, council members present, summary of official reports from various departments and city offices, budget approvals, ordinances and resolutions, as well as other County business. The records in this collection are indexed by date. Originally a part of Stevens County, Ferry County was created on February 18, 1899 and named for Governor Elisha P. Ferry, the last territorial governor and first official governor of Washington State. Located in the northeastern corner of Washington State, Ferry County shares its northern boundary with Canada and its eastern boundary with the Columbia River. All records are in English.
