| Introduction |
These records were created by the Stevens County Auditor’s office, working under the authority of the Washington State Census Board.
The purpose of the 1966 Special Census was to create an accurate and detailed picture of the population and demographics of Stevens County. Representation in the Legislature and apportionment of tax monies both depend on this sort of accurate count. Stevens County is located in the Northeast portion of Washington State. The county was created out of Spokane County on January 20, 1963. All records are in English. These records are open for research.
