Chinatown Chamber of Commerce New Years Celebration

Thank you Jason.

Itís just great to see the younger generation of Asian Pacific American businesspeople sharing in the leadership of this Chamber.

Good evening everyone.

Itís a pleasure and an honor for Mona and I to join you tonight.

Iíd like to acknowledge and thank the outgoing president, May Wan.

May has done a great job in leading this Chamber.

I would also like to congratulate and welcome Benjamin Lee as the new president of the Chamber.

This is definitely an exciting New Year for you, and I am confident that it will be a successful one, too.

We wish you the best of luck.

Itís great to be a part of this celebration.

As we welcome the New Year together, we are also grateful for the many blessings of the past year for family, for health. May 2003, year of the ram be even more joyous and prosperous.

Iím proud to be Chinese and American.

I commend the Chinatown Chamber for your efforts to improve this community.

And I thank you for working to ensure that we remember and honor our heritage and our Chinese cultural traditions.

Thatís not just important to Chinese-Americansóitís important to everyone.

In our diversity lies our biggest strength as a state and as a nation.
