Gov. Locke urges the NTSB to hold public hearing in Seattle on Alaska Airlines crash

OLYMPIA - Gov. Gary Locke has suggested the National Transportation Safety Board hold a public hearing in Seattle, as investigators gather information on the crash of Alaska Airlines flight 261. The NTSB announced a public hearing for next month in Washington, DC as part of the accident investigation. "Most of the passengers and crew who tragically lost their lives in this accident lived in Washington, California, or Alaska. It would seem that Seattle would be a central location for their family members, friends, and colleagues," Locke said. "I know these individuals would greatly appreciate the opportunity to participate in the NTSB hearing, and this location would better enable many of them to do so, especially around the holidays."
