Locke appoints citizens to state boards and commissions

OLYMPIA - Gov. Gary Locke today announced his selections for the Everett Community College Board of Trustees, the Criminal Justice Training Commission, the Commute Trip Reduction Task Force, and the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.

Everett Community College, Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is the governing body of Everett Community College.

Sanford Kinzer, of Everett, is a civil litigation and trial attorney in Everett. His term ends Sept. 30, 2005.

Criminal Justice Training Commission

The commission develops and implements training standards and programs designed to upgrade criminal justice personnel and establishes standards relating to physical, mental and moral fitness for recruitment purposes.

Mike Kline, of Ritzville, is the Adams County Sheriff and a 30-year law enforcement veteran. His term ends on June 30, 2006.

Ed Holm, of Olympia, is a Thurston County prosecuting attorney in Olympia. His term ends on June 30, 2006.

Colleen Wilson, of Monroe, is the chief of police at the Monroe Police Department. Her term ends on June 30, 2006.

Commute Trip Reduction Task Force

The task force establishes guidelines for commute trip reduction plans.

Gail Kelley, of Bellingham, is the Whatcom County Safety and Wellness Representative, and is the designer of Whatcom County's commute trip program that won the Governor's Award in 1999.

Louann Beck, of Vancouver, is a registered nurse and Health Resources Manager in the Vancouver division of Hewlett-Packard.

Peter Hurley, of Seattle, is the Sustainable Building Project Manager with Seattle City Light, and a member of the Washington State Blue Ribbon Commission on Transportation.

All members of the Commute Trip Reduction Task Force serve at the pleasure of the Governor.

Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors

The Board examines candidate eligibility for license or registration, investigates and holds hearings on violations of the regulatory law, and recommends and adopts rules and regulations for administering the law.

Ying Fay Chan, of Olympia, is the founder and Principal-in-Charge of CES, Inc., a consulting firm in Olympia. His term ends on July 9, 2005.

Board of Registration for Landscape Architects

The Board examines candidates for licensure or registration and holds disciplinary hearings, as well as recommends adoption of rules and regulations for administering the regulatory laws.

Charles Warsinske, of Seattle, is a registered landscape architect with over 28 years of experience in design and planning, and is a principal with Susan Black and Associates, Inc. in Seattle. His term ends on September 5, 2005.
