Locke appoints Pierce County residents to college boards

OLYMPIA - Gov. Gary Locke today announced his selections for the boards of trustees of Tacoma Community College, Pierce College and Clover Park Technical College.

College Board of Trustees

The board of trustees is the governing body of the college.

Marilyn Walton, of Tacoma, was re-appointed to the Tacoma Community College, Board of Trustees. Walton is the manager of equity and diversity programs for the Tacoma School District No. 10. She is also active in human resource management organizations.

James P. Dawson, of Puyallup, was re-appointed to the Pierce College, Board of Trustees. Dawson is an independent investment and financial services professional. He previously served as president and chief executive officer of a full-service brokerage firm.

Walter W. Waisath Jr., of Tacoma, was re-appointed to the Clover Park Technical College, Board of Trustees. Waisath is the former president and business agent of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 758.

All terms begin Oct. 1, 2000 and expire Sept. 30, 2005.
