Locke makes selections for state boards and commissions

OLYMPIA - Gov. Gary Locke today announced appointments for several boards and commissions.

Pollution Control/Shorelines Hearings Board
The board hears appeals related to decisions and orders of the Department of Ecology and with respect to all decisions of air pollution control boards or authorities.

Kaleen Cottingham, of Olympia, is the former Deputy Commissioner of Public Lands. Her term begins Feb. 3, 2001 and expires June 30, 2002. Her annual salary is $80,750.

Dental Quality Assurance Commission
The commission regulates the competency and quality of dental professionals.

Dr. Russell B. Timms, of Longview, is a general dentist. His term expires June 30, 2004.

Appointed to an additional term is Dr. Ernest E. Barrett, of Seattle. His term expires June 30, 2004.

State Employee Combined Fund Drive Committee
The committee determines which charitable agencies shall participate in one annual combined effort to secure funds from state employees.

Sen. Karen Fraser, of Olympia, is currently the state senator from the 22nd Legislative District. Her term expires Jan.1, 2003.
