SUBJECT: Technical Memorandum 2000-1: Preliminary Review of Issues Regarding Development of a Statewide Salmonid Recovery Monitoring Program
The Independent Science Panel (Panel) was established by the legislature in 1998 to provide independent review and oversight of Washington’s salmonid recovery efforts. One of the Panel’s early tasks will be to provide recommendations on issues associated with salmon recovery monitoring. The Panel’s findings will be provided in a report to the Governor and the legislature by the end of 2000.
The attached Technical Memo provides an outline of initial considerations that the Panel feels will be important in design and implementation of salmonid monitoring plans and activities. Additional information will be contained in later documents.
