EXECUTIVE ORDER  69-04

A PROCLAMATION BY THE GOVERNOR

WHEREAS, I have been advised by the Director of the Department of Civil Defense that the Commissioners and Sheriff of Okanogan County consider portions of Okanogan County as disaster areas due to heavy snows and winds which have made highways impassable, and,

WHEREAS, there is concern that families in areas of Okanogan County may not have adequate food and other supplies, and,

WHEREAS, county officials and the Department of Highways are in immediate need of assistance in transporting necessary food and medical supplies to stranded families and livestock in remote areas.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Daniel J. Evans, Governor of the State of Washington, by virtue of authority vested in me by Title 38, Revised Code of Washington, do hereby direct the Adjutant General of the State of Washington to place on duty in the critical area of Okanogan County such troops and equipment of the Washington National Guard as may be necessary to aid and assist the Okanogan County Sheriff and local authorities in the protection of life and property.
