Yvonne Ullas


 

Yvonne Ullas began her teaching career in 1975 as a paraeducator with the Yakima School District's project Follow Through program, working with parents to build a strong home-school partnership.  She completed her degree in Early Childhood Education in 1981 from Central Washington University.  She taught first grade for five years at St. Joseph's in Yakima, and she has been at Naches Valley Primary School for the past 13 years, also as a first grade teacher.  She completed her master's in education in 1995 from Heritage College, where she developed a curriculum for successful integration of special needs students in the regular classroom.  Yvonne was chosen as US West's Washington State Outstanding Teacher in 1994, and was the 1998 Washington Teacher of the Year.
