Supplemental Changes
Fire Mobilization Support
During the summer months of 1996, there were six fires that were determined to be beyond the capacity of the local fire fighting units. To address these fires, the agency activated the State Fire Mobilization Plan. Funds are provided to cover the cost of mobilized firefighter's wages and local jurisdiction equipment expenses as specified by the Plan.
State Costs - Spokane Ice Storm
Governor Lowry declared an emergency in connection with the November 1996 Spokane snow and ice storm. The Military Department and the Department of Natural Resources responded by operating an emergency operations center, providing electrical generators, and assisting the city and county of Spokane with storm debris removal. Funding is provided to cover the costs of the state agencies involved in responding to this event.
