Supplemental Changes
Health Services Building - Spokane
Funding is provided to construct the Health Sciences Building at the Joint Center for Higher Education's Riverpoint Campus in downtown Spokane. This project includes the design and construction of the first phase of the Health Sciences Building. The building will house the health science-related programs of Eastern Washington University and Washington State University.
Harborview Research Building
Additional funding is provided to complete construction of the University of Washington Harborview Research and Training Building. Funding continues the project which received design funds in the 1993-95 Biennium and design and partial construction funds in the 1995-97 Biennium. The new building, approximating 179,000 gross square feet, provides adequate space for the research and training activities of the medical school faculty staffing the Harborview Medical Center.
Common School Construction
Funding is provided for school districts to match school plant facility construction pursuant to provisions of Chapter 28A.525 RCW.
Disaster Costs-Emergency Fund
Additional funds are provided for the Governor's Emergency Fund in order to address unforeseen needs that are not supported by other appropriations. Recent ice storms in the state highlight the need for emergency funds that can be made available on an as-needed basis for disasters and critical purposes.
