Sellers to take new position
OLYMPIA - Gov. Mike Lowry today
announced that Sue Sellers, his southwest Washington office coordinator,
has accepted an offer to become unit services director for the
American Cancer Society of Oregon.
"I greatly appreciate the fine work Sue has done for the
governor's office during my administration and the previous administration,"
Lowry said. "It takes a great talent to work well with people
in the community and present their concerns to the governor and
she excelled at that."
A Vancouver resident, Sellers has worked for the governor's office
for nine years, scheduling events for the governor in southwestern
Washington, working with local groups on the governor's behalf
and taking calls from the public.
"I will miss the excitement of serving the governor and
the people of the southwestern corner of the state, but I look
forward to my new career," Sellers said. "This is a
wonderful opportunity for me to help with another great cause."
Sellers will coordinate the activities of the American Cancer
Society's six Oregon regional offices from the group's Portland
headquarters. She will be involved in fundraising, recruiting
volunteers and providing education to cancer patients and their
families. She will leave the governor's office on March 7.
