Gov. Locke invites statewide participation in Day of Prayer and Remembrance tomorrow

OLYMPIA — In concert with President Bush’s call, Gov. Gary Locke will lead a statewide day of prayer and remembrance tomorrow (Sept. 14) at Westlake Center in downtown Seattle to honor all victims of Tuesday’s horrifying terrorist attacks against the United States of America. The governor will be joined at the memorial service by King County Executive Ron Sims, Seattle Mayor Paul Schell and religious leaders.

The governor invites all communities statewide to hold their own gatherings and unite the state of Washington in tribute to America by observing one minute of silence at 12:30 p.m. followed by the ringing of church bells at 12:31 p.m.
