Locke names two to communications office
OLYMPIA — Gov. Gary Locke today announced the addition of two new members of his communications office.
David Chai will join the staff Oct. 19 as a deputy communications director. Chai, a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, most recently worked as a deputy press secretary in the White House. For the past year, he worked primarily on President Clinton's Initiative on Race.
Wendy Harris, 29, has joined the communications office in a dual role as executive assistant and public information assistant. Harris earned a political science degree at the University of Washington. She has worked for Locke for the past year, assisting in both communications and external affairs functions.
