Locke makes selections for two state boards

OLYMPIA — Gov. Gary Locke today announced his appointments to the Personnel Appeals Board and the Central Puget Sound Growth Management Hearings Board.

Personnel Appeals Board

The board hears appeals related to personnel matters of state employees.

Leana D. Lamb, of Sumner, is currently the acting executive director of the Commission on Hispanic Affairs. She was previously the superintendent of Rainier School. Her term begins Jan. 24, 2000 and expires July 26, 2005. Her annual salary is $70,871.
Central Puget Sound Growth Management Hearings Board

The board hears petitions challenging whether actions of state agencies, counties and cities comply with the goals and requirements of the Growth Management Act.

Lois North, of Seattle, is a former member of the Washington State House of Representatives and the Washington State Senate. She has also served as a King County Councilmember. Her term begins Jan. 3, 2000 and expires June 30, 2000. Her annual salary is $78,354.
