Locke receives recommendations from Blue Ribbon Commission on Transportation

SEATTLE - "I will carefully review all the information and tomorrow I will outline some of the things we can do right away," Gov. Gary Locke said today when he received the state Blue Ribbon Commission on Transportation recommendations.

Locke appointed the Commission after the Legislature created it two years ago, so members could study transportation needs and priorities across the state.

"My mission now is to take all the information, all the data, and with the help of the Legislature, take action," Locke remarked.

He said that tomorrow he will give his initial assessment of the report, as well as outline his plan to discuss the recommendations with the public.

"Washington is already a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family. It is now time to make it easier and more efficient for the people to get around our great state."
