Governor Locke provides assistance for SR 520 bridge travelers

SEATTLE - Gov. Gary Locke announced today that he will provide emergency funds to provide financial assistance for a week of free bus service on SR 520 bridge routes.

"This situation illustrates precisely why I am looking so closely at the overall transportation problems in our state and this region to develop a comprehensive solution, said Locke at a press briefing this afternoon. The Blue Ribbon Transportation Commission is studying situations just like this one to see how we best utilize our resources to avoid or mitigate these kinds of problems in an area that’s seen staggering growth," said Locke.
