Statement by Gov. Gary Locke on the death of Zy-Nyia Nobles

"I am deeply disturbed by the death of three-year-old Zy-Nyia Nobles of Tacoma. A full investigation is under way into this incident, and I can assure the public of full responsibility and accountability by the Department of Social and Health Services. There are many unanswered questions at this point. But I want to make it clear that when all the information is known, if anyone in a state agency, or anyone in a contractual relationship with DSHS, failed to properly report or respond to a complaint that would have saved this child's life, full disciplinary action will be taken."
