Gov. Gary Locke’s Statement on WNBA Champions Seattle Storm

Gov. Gary Locke today issued the following statement congratulating the Seattle Storm on winning the WNBA Championship:

“Congratulations to the Seattle Storm, the 2004 WNBA champions!

“We should all celebrate the Storm’s tremendous accomplishment. It has given our entire state reason to be proud.

“This championship is about more than just a league title. It’s about making your dreams come true.

“Mona, the kids and I watched Game 2 on Sunday and enjoyed the exciting, fast-paced action. I commend all of the Storm players and coach Anne Donovan for being an inspiration for all of us.”
