Gov. Gary Locke’s Statement on President Clinton’s Health

Gov. Gary Locke today issued the following statement upon learning that former President Bill Clinton has checked into a New York hospital and will undergo heart bypass surgery:

“The news that President Clinton will need bypass surgery is jarring. Mona and I – and millions of people around the world – are keeping him and his family in our thoughts. We pray for a speedy recovery.

While recuperation from surgery can be long and activities will surely be limited, President Clinton is energetic and strong. His vision and leadership have a tremendous influence on peace and prosperity around the globe and I know he will continue that important work.”
