Gov. Gary Locke Announces Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Gov. Gary Locke today announced the following appointments to the state boards and commissions:

Fire Protection Policy Board

Jennifer Gregerson of Mukilteo has been appointed to a term ending April 15, 2005. Gregerson is a yearbook sales representative for Herff Jones and Mukilteo City Councilmember.

Joseph L. Coultman of Seattle, Sharon Colby of Spokane, and T.J. Nedrow of Lacey have been reappointed to terms ending April 15, 2007. The Fire Protection Policy Board advises and assists the chief of the State Patrol and the director of fire protection on all fire-protection matters and in developing a budget and sets policy on fire-protection matters.

Governor’s Affirmative Action Policy Committee

Dave N. Brown of Olympia has been appointed to a term ending May 31, 2006. Brown is manager of the Disability Reasonable Accommodation Unit with the Department of Social and Health Services.

Lee Lambert of Olympia has been reappointed to a term ending March 31, 2007. The Governor’s Affirmative Action Policy Committee serves as a policy and review body for the state’s affirmative action program and reviews and approves state agency affirmative action plans.

Personnel Resources Board

Laura Anderson of Normandy Park has been appointed to a term ending Jan. 4, 2005. Anderson is a staff attorney for the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace. The Personnel Resources Board governs the state merit system for state agency personnel.


Professional Educator Standards Board

David Koyama of Bothell has been appointed to a term ending May 31, 2004. Koyama is principal at Lynnwood Intermediate. The Professional Educator Standards Board develops a basic skills test for persons entering teacher preparation programs and out of state teachers seeking initial or residency certification.

Renton Technical College Board of Trustees

Edward James, Jr. of Renton has been appointed to a term ending Sept. 30, 2008. James is an elementary school principal with the Seattle Public Schools. The Renton Technical College Board of Trustees is the governing board for the college.

State Employees Combined Fund Drive

Karl Allison of Moses Lake has been appointed to a term ending date of Jan. 1, 2006. Allison is community service office administrator with the Department of Social and Health Services.

Mary Henley of Tumwater has been reappointed to a term ending Jan. 1, 2007. The State Employee Combined Fund Drive board determines which agencies engaged in charitable and public health, welfare and service purposes shall participate in one annual combined effort to secure funds from state employees through payroll deduction or other payment methods.
