Gov. Gary Locke Announces Two Board Appointments

Gov. Gary Locke today announced the appointments of James Carvo of Selah to the Yakima Valley Community College Board of Trustees and Cecilia DeLuna-Gaeta of Othello to the Big Bend Community College Board of Trustees.

Carvo will serve as a trustee for Yakima Valley Community College for a term ending Sept. 30, 2005. Carvo is a business manager for the Laborers’ Union Local 614. He previously served as a compliance officer for the Northwest Fair Contracting Association and was a foreman for D.A. Zukuga Construction. Carvo is also as a member of the Tri-County WorkForce Development Council.

Gaeta has been appointed to the Big Bend Community College Board of Trustees for a term ending Sept. 30, 2005. Gaeta has worked as a supervisor for the state Department of Social and Health Services, Children and Family Services division since 1996. She has also sat on the board of directors for Family Services of Grant County and served as co-chair for the board in 1999-2002. She has served on the county’s Interagency Hispanic Program Committee for Grant County Mental Health since 1990.
