Gov. Gary Locke Appoints Chair of Puget Sound Action Team

Gov. Gary Locke today appointed Bradley L. Ack as the new chair of the Puget Sound Action Team. Ack most recently served as Senior Program Director of Grand Canyon Trust, a regional conservation organization focused on the Colorado Plateau in Arizona.

“Brad’s strong background in developing and planning conservation programs will be a huge asset in this role,” Locke said. “I am confident in his ability to provide leadership on a wide range of environment-related issues.”

For the past ten years Ack served as Senior Program Director of Grand Canyon Trust, a regional conservation organization focused on the Colorado Plateau in Arizona. Ack has worked on environmental policy, natural resource conservation and sustainable development in Washington, D.C. and throughout Latin America and in the Western United States. He also has extensive experience in large landscape conservation.

“I am extremely honored to be selected by the governor to serve in this role,” Ack said. “I’m excited about the opportunity to work with the state’s agencies as well as the Puget Sound communities.”

Ack earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota and holds a master’s in development management from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

Ack starts his new job in March.
