EXECUTIVE ORDER EO 71-01

WHEREAS, the Developmental Disabilities Services and Facilities Construction Act, Public Law 91-517, has been passed by Congress and approved by President Nixon. This Public Law makes funds available to the State of Washington for planning, administration, delivery of services and construction of facilities for the developmentally disabled. This law further requires the designation of a Planning and Advisory Council with responsibility for approval and transmittal of a State Developmental and Disabilities plan to the U. S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Daniel J. Evans, Governor of the State of Washington by virtue of authority vested in me by law, do hereby designate the Mental Health and Mental Retardation Advisory Council as authorized under R04 71.16 as the Developmental Disabilities Planning and Advisory Council, with duties and responsibilities as provided in Public Law 91-517.
