EXECUTIVE ORDER  09-13-65

WHEREAS, a strong two-party system is the very foundation of our great nation and our State; and

WHEREAS, it is vital to the future of the State of Washington that such a two-party system be kept in existence and healthy; and

WHEREAS, leaders of both major political parties in Washington State have agreed to combine their respective party's time and effort in a joint fund-raising program to be called the "Neighbor to Neighbor" Campaign, which will be held from Monday, September 13, until Sunday, October 3; and

WHEREAS, good government begins when all citizens support the political party of their choice,

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Daniel J. Evans, Governor of the State of Washington, do hereby officially proclaim the period from September 13 until October 3 as "Party Time" in Washington State, and do heartily urge each and every citizen of the State of Washington to support the party of his choice during the 1965 Neighbor to Neighbor fund raising drive.
