Gov. Gregoire�s statement on Ellen Craswell

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire issued the following statement on the death of former state legislator Ellen Craswell:

�I am saddened by the passing of Ellen Craswell after her dignified and courageous battle with cancer. She had a distinguished career in both chambers of the Legislature, including being the first woman in state history elected as Senate president pro tem. Ellen was a true Washingtonian whose deep devotion to her family and to public service will long be remembered. A soft-spoken, gracious and straightforward woman, she will be missed by many. My heart and prayers go out to her family and friends.�
