Gov. Gregoire appoints Tri-Citian as new WSU regent

OLYMPIA � May 12, 2005 � Gov. Christine Gregoire today appointed Francois (Fran) Forgette of Kennewick to the Washington State University Board of Regents. His term is effective immediately and ends Sept. 30, 2007.

Forgette is a partner with the Tri-Cities law firm of Rettig Osborne Forgette, LLP, which he joined in 1977 after graduation from Gonzaga Law School in Spokane. He is chairman of the board of the Tri-City Industrial Development Council (TRIDEC). He is a past president of several organizations and boards, including the Tri-Cities Cancer Center, Tri-City Area Chamber of Commerce, Tri-Cities Estate Planning Council and Catholic Family and Child Services.

Active on Tri-Cities education issues, Forgette has been involved in technology funding support programs for K-8 schools, formation of the Mid Columbia Education Alliance, and formation of TRIDEC�s Higher Education Committee.
