Governor Gregoire Statement on Possible Deployment of Washington National Guard Troops

OLYMPIA - Adjutant General Major General Lowenberg today notified Governor Chris Gregoire that the 81st Heavy Brigade Combat Team of the Washington National Guard has received an alert order for mobilization to deploy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

�Thank you to all the members of the Washington National Guard for their dedicated service to our citizens, our state and our country.

�While there is no guarantee that a mobilization order will be received - alert orders are occasionally rescinded - I know that our citizen soldiers are committed, well-trained and ready to answer the call of duty for the state of Washington or for our nation.�
