Governor Gregoire Announces Appointments to College Boards of Trustees

Citizens appointed from Arlington, Bellevue, Bellingham, Bothell, Centralia, Ephrata, Kent, Nespelem, Newcastle, Olympia, Raymond, Seattle, Shoreline, Spanaway, Tacoma and Vancouver

OLYMPIA - Governor Chris Gregoire today announced appointments to the boards of trustees of Washington colleges:

Bellevue Community College Board of Trustees
Vicki Orrico of Bellevue has been appointed to a term beginning October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Orrico is an attorney with Ogden Murphy Wallace with experience in municipal and business law and is a member of the American Bar Association. She is involved with the Bellevue Planning Commission and Bellevue Leadership Training and is a board member of Women in Democracy.

Shoreline Community College Board of Trustees
Jerry Smith of Shoreline has been appointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Smith owns Jerry Smith Chevrolet in Anacortes and has been involved with Shoreline Community College�s automotive program since it began.

Renton Technical College Board of Trustees
Charles Dochnahl of Renton has been appointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2008. Dochnahl is a founding member of the Renton Technical College Foundation Board. He is involved with the Renton Chamber of Commerce, the Renton Rotary Club, the Mayor�s Utility Taskforce and the Renton Board of Adjustment.

Frank Irigon of Newcastle has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Irigon is a retired social worker and has worked with the Asian Pacific Directors Coalition, the Asian Pacific American Caucus and the National Association of Social Workers.

Centralia College Board of Trustees
Joseph Dolezal of Centralia has been appointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2011. Dolezal is an optometrist with his own practice in Centralia and is a member of the board of trustees of Optometric Physicians of Washington. He is a member of the Centralia College Foundation, the Centralia Performing and Fine Arts Council and the vocational education advisory board for Centralia High School.

Wenatchee Valley College Board of Trustees
Darlene Wilder of Nespelem has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Wilder is a culture and education coordinator with the Colville Tribal Corrections Facility. She is a member of the Sacred Heart mission parish board and is involved with Nez Perce Long House, Parents for Indian Education and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Pierce College District Board of Trustees
Donald Meyer of Spanaway has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 20, 2012. Meyer is the executive director of the Foss Waterway Development Authority of Tacoma. He is a member of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce, the Tacoma Regional Convention and Visitor Bureau and the Executive Council of Greater Tacoma.

Grays Harbor College Board of Trustees
Rebecca Chaffee of Raymond has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Chaffee is a manager for the Port of Willapa Harbor and has managed public works projects within the city of Raymond as well as throughout Pacific County.

Everett Community College Board of Trustees
Gene Chase of Arlington has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Chase is the president of the Trustee Association of Community and Technical Colleges. He serves on the Arlington School Board and as a Snohomish County fire commissioner. He is a member of the North Snohomish County Rotary Club.

Seattle Community Colleges Board of Trustees
Thomas Malone of Seattle has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Malone is the president of Malone and Associates and was a member of the board of Swedish Medical Center. He is a member of the American, Washington and King County bar associations and the Estate Planning Council of Seattle.

Green River Community College Board of Trustees
Sherry Gates of Kent has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Gates is a graduate of Green River Community College (GRCC) and is a member of the GRCC Foundation. She established a book endowment to the GRCC library.

Clark College Board of Trustees
Rhona Sen Hoss of Vancouver has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Sen Hoss is a community partnerships manager at The Columbian newspaper and is a member of the WSU Vancouver President�s Advisory Council and the Evergreen School District Foundation.

Spokane Community College Board of Trustees
Greg Bever of Spokane has been appointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Bever is the publisher of the Journal of Business in Spokane and is a recipient of Eastern Washington University�s Distinguished Alumnus Award. He is involved with the Children�s Miracle Network, the Dussault Foundation and is a member of the advisory council for Eastern Washington University�s College of Business and Public Administration.

Big Bend Community College Board of Trustees
Robert Holloway of Ephrata has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Holloway is a graduate of Big Bend Community College and is the founder and director of AgFARMation. He is the past director of the Grant County Farm Bureau and is a co-owner of Wild Goose Enterprises. Holloway is retired from the United States Air Force.

Tacoma Community College Board of Trustees
Laurie Jinkins of Tacoma has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Jinkins is an assistant secretary at the Washington Department of Health and worked on the Tacoma Community College Legislative Task Force. She is involved with the Tacoma/ Pierce County American Leadership Forum and Tacoma United for Fairness.

South Puget Sound Community College Board of Trustees
Richard Wadley of Olympia has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Wadley retired as vice president of operations for State Farm Insurance. He is involved with the South Puget Sound Community College Foundation Board, the board of the South Sound YMCA and the board of the Association of Washington Business.

Cascadia Community College Board of Trustees
Jean Magladry of Bothell has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Magladry is with a partner at Magladry Weigel and is the former city prosecutor for Spokane. She is a member of the Northwest Women�s Law Center and the Women of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association.

Bellingham Technical College Board of Trustees
James Cunningham of Bellingham has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Cunningham is retired from Georgia-Pacific. He is a member of the United Way board of directors and the board of the Western Washington University Foundation. He volunteers for the Bellingham Rotary Club and the Bellingham School District.

Lake Washington Technical College Board of Trustees
Celeste Strahl of Bellevue has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30. 2012. Strahl is a clinical simulation coordinator in the nursing department of Seattle University. She is a faculty representative on the Teaching and Learning Technology Roundtable.

Bates Technical College Board of Trustees
Karen Seinfeld of Tacoma has been reappointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2012. Seinfeld is a retired judge from the Division II Court of Appeals, the State Court of Appeals and the Pierce County Superior Court. She is a member of Tacoma City Club, the Tacoma Sunrise Rotary and the Puget Sound Inn of Court.

Central Washington University Board of Trustees
Keith Thompson of Spokane has been appointed to a term effective October 1, 2007, ending September 30, 2013. Thompson is the senior portfolio and site manager for U.S. Bancorp Asset Management and a graduate of CWU. He is the chair of the Central Washington University Foundation and former chair of the investment and finance committee.
