Governor Gregoire Announces Boards and Commissions Appointments

Citizens appointed from Lacey, Olympia and Pullman

OLYMPIA - Governor Chris Gregoire today announced appointments to the following boards and commissions:

State Board of Health
Diana Yu of Olympia has been appointed to a term effective February 16, 2007, ending July 2, 2008. Ms. Yu is the Health Officer for the Thurston County Public Health and Social Service Department. She is the President of the Thurston Mason County Medical Society and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Washington Association of Local Public Health Officials. She volunteers for the Olympia High School Parent Connection and the Olympia Host Lion�s Club.

The Board is the primary entity for health policy development and is required to produce a biennial report delineating state health priorities.

State Employee Combined Fund Drive
Carol Trisko of Lacey has been appointed to a term effective February 26, 2007, ending January 1, 2010. Ms. Trisko works in the Office of Financial Recovery within the Department of Social and Health Services. She has worked for Child Support Enforcement and the Liquor Control Board.

The Combined Fund Drive allows state employees to donate money to a variety of charitable organizations.

Veterinary Board of Governors
Harmon Rogers of Pullman has been appointed to a term effective February 21, 2007, ending December 24, 2011. Mr. Rogers is the Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Washington State University. He was a practicing veterinarian in Snohomish County, is a member of the Washington Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and is the Community Service Chair for the Pullman Rotary Club.

The Board examines candidates for licensing and registration, investigates and holds hearings on violations of the regulatory law and recommends and adopts rules and regulations for administering the regulatory law.
