Governor Gregoire Directs Department of Corrections to Keep Violators Behind Bars

OLYMPIA � Governor Chris Gregoire today issued a directive to Secretary Harold Clarke ordering the Washington Department of Corrections to take immediate action to ensure that any offender in Washington serving time for a violation of the terms of his or her release will serve the full term of the sanction.

�I am outraged that this has happened. Public safety is a priority of my administration and offenders must be held accountable for their actions,� said Governor Gregoire.
