Governor Gregoire Announces Department of Printing, Boards and Commissions Appointments

Citizens appointed from Bremerton, Dupont, Kingston, Marysville, Mukilteo, Port Angeles and Seattle

OLYMPIA - Governor Chris Gregoire today announced that she has appointed Jean-Luc Devis as Director of the Department of Printing. The Department of Printing is a self-supporting agency that provides design, printing, production and shipping services to Washington government and outside customers.

Mr. Devis most recently served as the Director of Printing and Mailing Services at Oregon State University. He also was the Operations Manager of Photographic and Reproduction Services at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. Mr. Devis� appointment is effective September 25, 2006.

Governor Gregoire also announced appointments to the following boards and commissions:

Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission
Frances Youn of Seattle has been appointed to a term effective August 2, 2006, ending June 30, 2007. Ms. Youn is the legislative aide to councilmember Richard McIver. She served as the legislative aide to Representative Sharon Tomiko Santos and is a member of the Korean American Profession Society and the Korean American Voter�s Alliance.

Felicito Abille, Jr. of Bremerton has been appointed to a term effective August 2, 2006, ending June 30, 2009. Mr. Abille, Jr. is a detective with the Kitsap County Sheriff, formerly with the Seattle Police Department. He is a member of the Pacific Northwest Division, International Association for Identification and served as vice-president and president.

Elliot Lawrence Kim of Dupont, Habib Habib of Marysville and Thi Huynh of Mukilteo have been reappointed to terms effective August 2, 2006, ending June 30, 2009. Mr. Kim is a social worker and is a member of the community outreach and planning group for the Pierce County Sheriff. He helped to establish the Korean- American Voters Alliance, which works to ensure increased voting rates amongst the Korean- American population. Mr. Habib is an accountant and chair of the Snohomish County Community Advisory Council. He is a member of the Diversity Caucus for Bellevue Community College. Mr. Huynh is a founding board member for the Vietnamese American Board Association of Washington and the owner of One Law, PLLC, which focuses on residential real properties.

The commission examines and defines issues relating to the rights and needs of Asian Americans and advises the Governor and state agencies on policies, plans and needs.

Peninsula College Board of Trustees
Dwayne Johnson of Port Angeles has been appointed to a term effective October 1, 2006, ending September 20, 2011. Mr. Johnson is a physical education teacher with the Port Angeles school district. He is a member of the Washington Education Association, the Washington State Track and Field Coaches Association and the Port Angeles Education Association.

The board is the governing board for the college.

Olympic Community College Board of Trustees
Darlene Peters of Kingston has been appointed to a term effective October 1, 2006, ending September 20, 2011. Ms. Peters is a retired public school educator. She has worked as a school psychologist for the North Kitsap School district, school counselor for the Evergreen and Spokane school districts and special education coordinator for the Puyallup Tribal School.

The board is the governing board for the college.
