Governor Gregoire Announces Appointee to Growth Management Hearings Board

OLYMPIA - Governor Chris Gregoire today announced the appointment of Dave Earling of Edmonds to the Central Puget Sound Growth Management Hearings Board. Mr. Earling has been appointed to a term effective August 10, 2006, ending June 30, 2012.

�I am pleased that Mr. Earling has accepted this appointment. His involvement in this community and his knowledge of conservation issues will make him a valuable member of the Central Puget Sound�s Growth Management Hearings Board,� said Governor Gregoire.

Mr. Earling is currently a senior fellow with the Cascadia Center at the Discovery Institute. He is a board member of the Washington Conservation Voters and Senior Services of Snohomish County.

Mr. Earling was the manager and owner of Edmonds Realty, Inc. and is the former chairman of Sound Transit and of the Puget Sound Regional Council�s transportation policy board. He was a member and the council president of Edmond�s City Council. He was a member of Snohomish County Tomorrow and the president of the Edmond�s Chamber of Commerce.

The Central Puget Sound Growth Management Hearings Board rules on disputes that arise from county and city growth-planning policies adopted by the counties of King, Pierce, Kitsap and Snohomish counties.
