Governor Gregoire Signs Measure to Remove State Park Fees

For Immediate Release: March 20, 2006

OLYMPIA Governor Chris Gregoire today signed into law House Bill 2416, which repeals the daily parking fees at Washington parks that was implemented in 2003.

This bill removes day-use parking fees from our state parks system, making these important recreational resources accessible for more Washington families, said Governor Gregoire. But this work is not yet complete. I look forward to working with the legislature to put forward an alternative revenue source that is ample, sustainable, and reliable during the next legislative session.
