Gov. Gregoire welcomes significant unemployment rate drop in November

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today issued the following statement after the Employment Security Department reported that Washington�s estimated unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent in November, making it the first time the unemployment rate has dropped below eight percent since January 2009, and the largest one-month decline in thirty-five years:

"This is very welcome news to all Washingtonians. We are clearly heading in the right direction as we slowly emerge from the Great Recession but we cannot rest until every Washingtonian who wants a job has one."
